Keep. A Google App For the Sticky-Note Lover!

Keep is one of my new favorite apps.  It will be one of yours soon too!

KeepI have searched and searched for a note taking app and tried many that are good and work for others such as Evernote, but didn’t fit my brain’s needs.  I like visual and I like color coding.  It’s a thing with me.

I’ve dreamed of an app that allowed me to have something that looked like I stuck a bunch of sticky note checklists to my fridge.  Now I have it.

Keep ScreenshotPreviously, I used a combination of sticky notes and index cards to coordinate my many functions throughout a day:  my work life, my blog life, my home life and the ever-pressing must get done today list.  It was functional, until I lost that note or didn’t have it in my pocket. Or didn’t have a pen. Or was driving.  My phone is with me everywhere, and it if isn’t, Keep syncs with my iPad, my laptop and my desktop.  As long as I have access to one of these devices, I have my notes.

Yesterday I learned (thank you A.D!) that I can even send a picture to my phone as a visual reminder and I can tag a time or location reminder.  For instance, I was heading to Target for some groceries and wanted to get items to wrap presents.  I took a picture of all of my presents that needed wrapping, sent it to the phone and tagged a location reminder so that as I enter Target, I remember to pick up these items!  Genius!

I also like that I can check something off today, but if it is something that’s on my daily list, such as blogging or art, I can return it to the list the next day so that I don’t have to keep typing it.

There are a lot of features that I haven’t used yet, but that might be good for others such as being able to share the list, especially for groceries so that the whole family can add and you don’t end up with a million trips through the week.  You can also filter and search for notes.

So far, I have found this app perfect for me in every way and I hope it brings you the joy of clarity and memory that it has brought to me!
