I’m taking an awesome online art inspiration course called, ‘Love Art Happy Life’, coordinated by Marieke Blokland of Bloknote Academy. The goal of the course is to bolster creativity and has Marieke Blokland plus eleven guest hosts through the course.
So far, I feel like it is entirely worth the $80 I paid for the course on the early-bird special and can’t wait for this weeks installment!
Since it would be wholly rude of me to share the content of this course, I will just take a few minutes each week to share how I was inspired by it to create my own art. Those of you who have a true art background might feel like this is something from art school, and it might be. I really wouldn’t know; I gave up art classes for lab sciences in high school as the schedule wouldn’t allow both. Sad face.
Anyway, this weeks theme was Picasso and after the tutorial video, the homework for the week was to do at least one Picasso-style figure sketch each day using the medium of choice. My materials were plain sketching paper, Inktense pencils and acrylic.
I have chosen two to share, the first is a ‘self-portrait’ and something that I strangely quite like. The one on the right is one of the types I started with, just sketching faces and painting in all in, finding inspiration in learning about the style and life of Picasso.
