I make the drive along Seneca Lake from end to end a few times a month, and now that I have a camera, I can capture some of the beauty I see on my way. I’m quite excited by this as a lot of Mennonite farms dot the landscape and these tend to offer lovely, bucolic scenes untainted by a lot of wires.
The inspiration photo was taken in the early morning, and as any trained photographer will tell you, it is not the best picture. It was a week or so after I had been given the camera and I had even less of a clue about the camera than I do now.

I keep thinking about learning more on the use of gouache as I hear it is like a watercolor, but has opacity that would allow for the inclusion of the fog in a painting like this. As is pretty standard at this time, there are issues with perspective.
I hope you aren’t as frustrated with hearing about my issues with perspective as I am with the fact that I have them.
Either way, this is mine and I’m appreciative that I have the opportunity to practice! If you’re struggling with something in your art or life, just keep practicing. It gets easier.
